Pocket DB is a database program designed for the new Windows Mobile 6.0 Pocket PCs, the Sprint HTC Touch in specific, and all WM6 devices with a 240x320 screen in general. Whether you want to have a simple AddressBook table with only dozens of addresses, a movie database with several hundred records, or multiple tables with tens of thousands of records for things such as financial transactions, Pocket DB can handle these with ease. The program uses the latest Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 database engine.

Pocket DB includes a desktop utility to convert your Access databases (ACCDB or MDB) to the SQL Compact SDF format.

The program was designed from the ground up to handle tables with large number of records. It only retrieves and displays the number of records that the small Pocket PC's screen can display. This significantly helps in record navigation tasks and makes the retrieval of any record a snap. You can retrieve records in seconds even on tables with tens of thousands of records in seconds. Using Pocket DB, you can add, edit, remove records on your Pocket PC. Data can be accessed under both 'Grid View' and 'Record View' modes. The program offers a filter facility so you build custom filters for fast access to your data. Advanced users can issue SQL statements directly to the SQL Server Compact engine to have total control over the manipulation of their data.

Flexibility: Both grid view and record view are available. Use grid view for quick glance at records that meet a certain crieria, then record view to drill down to a specific record's details.
Lookup Fields: Enter data much faster with lookup for field input. You can link a foreign field from the primary table to a primary field from another table.
Filtering: Data can be filtered for precise access and saved with different filter files.
Easy/fast record navigation: Data is presented one screen at a time. Navigation buttons are provided for snappy records browsing.
Industry-standard mobile database engine: SQL Server 3.5 Compact Edition database engine.
Expandability: SQF files can reside on SD card to accommodate large databases.

NOTE: Pocket DB has been thoroughly tested on a Sprint HTC Touch and is guaranteed to work on this device. However, the 240x320 version has been developed and tested on the emulators for these devices and theoretically should work on the physical devices as well. It is strongly recommended that if you own anything other than the Sprint HTC Touch, you should download the trial version and try it for 31 days to make sure that it works for you before deciding to purchase the registered version.
